COVID-19 Safety Guidelines

Great Lakes Dental Excellence is committed to providing you & your family with the best dental care. Because of the severity of COVID-19 outbreak & in accordance with the Center for Disease Control (CDC) & American Dental Association (ADA) recommendations, we made necessary changes to ensure the safety of our patients & our team.

While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety & to provide excellent dental care. We value your trust & loyalty & look forward to welcoming back patients, neighbors & friends.

Here are a few changes that we will be implementing:

Safe Appointment Scheduling

We have adjusted the time between appointments to increase the spacing between patients & follow social distancing guidelines. We may be required to make changes to your scheduled appointment, but rest assured that we will work to see you at a time that’s convenient for your schedule & safe for your & your family. We are also creating priority lists for patients who have any dental issues that need to be seen as soon as possible.

Pre-Appointment Screening

If you have email or text messaging confirmation, you can answer the screening questions electronically. If we do not receive your answers by email or text, we will call to pre-screen. When confirming please let treatment coordinators know if you have experienced any changes to your insurance.

Text-to-Pay Options

To limit your time in the office & contact, we will be offering text-to-pay. Treatment coordinators will ask if you would like to use this option.

Curbside Waiting Room

When you arrive, please stay in your car & call 231-799-0404 to let one of our team members know you have arrived. They will also ask you the pre-screening questions again. Please remain in your car until notified by a team member that the team is ready for you. Once you enter the building, your temperature will be taken. You will also be asked to use hand sanitizer when you enter.

Limited Visitors

Only patients (or in the case of minor patients, one adult if necessary) may enter the office. Anyone who has come with you must wait in the car.

Mask Requirements

All patients must wear a self-provided face covering while in the office. You will be asked to wear your mask before & after your treatment.

Brushing Before Your Appointment

Please brush prior to your appointment. You will also be given a pre-rinse once you are brought back to the dental chair.

Additional Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

This may make communication more difficult, but we promise we are still smiling underneath our new gear.

Thank you for your patience & understanding as we do our part to limit our exposure & continue to flatten the curve. We are happy to answer any of your questions about the steps we are taking to keep you & every patient safe in our practice.

We look forward to seeing your smiles soon!

Welcome 7am–6pm!
